Description

This position will oversee the procurement operations team and be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize procurement processes, ensure compliance, and drive value in procurement activities. This role will involve close collaboration with various departments, including IT, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment with business objectives and enhance procurement practices.

Key Accountabilities



  • Technology and Tools

    • Develop and implement procurement operational strategies, processes, and tools to achieve cost savings, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop procurement strategies that support organizational goals.
    • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance procurement and contracts management systems and tools to optimize efficiency, cost savings, and compliance


  • Processes and Templates

    • Develop and maintain consistent tools, templates and support models for Cost Benefit and Financial analysis, to enable fact-based vendor decisions
    • Develop and maintain library of policies, Standard Operating Procedures, process documentation, RFx documentation, and contract templates and playbooks, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.


  • Metrics and Measurements

    • Develop and implement key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of vendor management strategies and drive continuous improvement.
    • Develop data structure and strategy to enable reporting and analytics on sourcing metrics, supplier performance, procurement and spend trends, etc.
    • Oversee and ensure timely and accurate delivery of team's metrics into company dashboards and reports; create new metrics and/or reports where required, including developing new baseline metrics, if none exist


  • Supplier Diversity (Community Based Purchasing)

    • Create and implement Supplier Diversity strategy for Medica, based on objective and data-driven approach, considering availability of diverse suppliers in the categories being sourced and contracted.
    • Partner with internal teams and executives to align on Medica-wide Community Based Purchasing strategy and tactics.
    • Participate and provide input into external reporting on diverse supplier spend, including future goal-setting.


  • Leadership

    • Lead and manage the Procurement Operations team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
    • Partners with operational stakeholders to coordinate processes and educate on best practices, including but not limited to timeline planning, contract change orders or re-negotiation, onboarding, training, monitoring, offboarding and assessment
    • Drives relentless improvement of the Sourcing and Vendor Management function with a focus on cost reduction, quality improvement, supplier optimization and minimal disruption
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all procurement activities.




Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of procurement, supply chain, or related experience required
  • 5+ years in leadership role

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work from the designated office in Minnetonka, MN , on average, 2+ times per week.

The full salary range for this position is $127,800 - $219,000. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
