Job Summary

The web content writer is responsible for writing, editing, proofreading and posting content onto the College of Medicine's website and the Drexel Medicine clinics' website. This position manages the social media channels for the College of Medicine and Drexel Medicine, creating unique content for our audiences and monitoring posts by the public on our channels. The position assists with creating long-term and day-to-day content strategies to drive targeted website traffic.

Essential Functions



  • Daily posting of content to social media channels for the College of Medicine and Drexel Medicine.
  • Ensure that the content written conveys the desired branding and messaging for the organization to uphold the reputation of the College.
  • Create, manage and post web content for the College of Medicine and Drexel Medicine websites.
  • Creation of editorial calendars with web and marketing team members to support strategies to drive online traffic/conversions.
  • Conduct interviews with faculty, students and professional staff to write news items and blog posts that attract traffic to websites.


Required Qualifications



  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Communications/Journalism.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • Content Management System experience. Sitecore knowledge a plus.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Knowledge of public relations, editing online publications, health care and/or scientific writing experience, samples of writing for online outlets that demonstrates work experience, project management skills, ability to clearly communicate complex information

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table

Additional Information

This is a Part-time temporary position classified as non-exempt. The pay offered is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
