APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a candidate fora Research Technologist-Life Sciences (Professional)position in the Selleck Lab part of the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology studying neurodegenerative disease processes in model systems including Drosophila and human iPSCs. Experience with Drosophila genetics, confocal microscopy, tissue culture, and molecular biology methods such as qPCR, RNA isolation is desirable. Mammalian cell culture experience including iPSCs are valuable skills for this position. Responsibilities include training and assisting undergraduate researchers in their experiments, and conducting experiments under the direction of the head of lab, and organizing lab purchases for supplies. This position requires a Bachelor's degree, no prior relevant work experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a limited-term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of refunding. Additionally, this position will require successful completion of standard background checks.
