The Sourcing Agent handles routine, low-complexity procurements below the bid threshold, mainly for products and occasionally for services. Responsibilities include clarifying requirements, soliciting bids, evaluating quotations, and selecting suppliers to maximize value and meet delivery, quality, service, risk management, and diversity requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Procurement Transactions
* Manage procurement transactions from purchase order creation to closure
* Process requisitions for routine materials and services
* Solicit, evaluate, and document quotes
* Expedite orders and resolve match exceptions
* Administrative support
* Assist Negotiators and Sourcing Specialists with administrative tasks
* Distribute and collect NDAs, prepare RFP documents, and gather supplier lists
* Schedule and attend meetings, record questions, and set up new suppliers
* Create bid tabulations and organize final project documentation
* Support department operations and manage electronic resources
Qualifications:
* Proficiency in procurement transactions and understanding of procure-to-pay processes
* Basic knowledge of procurement's role in creating enterprise value
* Experience with PeopleSoft or similar software
* Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
* Familiarity with the utilities industry
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field; OR four years of relevant work experience
* Utility or construction industry experience preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
