Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Sr Program Administrator for the Bloustein school of Planning and Public Policy. Under the direction of the Senior Executive Director in tandem with the Faculty Director and Associate Director for the Center for Urban Policy and the BSPPP Director of Business Services, this position organizes, administers, and coordinates various facets of programs, projects, and processes within the center, providing support to the center directors and PIs in the successful management of CUPR initiatives.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Monitors overall budget performance on all unrestricted center accounts (e.g., operating, gift), externally funded grants and contracts, and technical assistance accounts.
  • Grant and contract management responsibilities include budget development, creating and maintaining boilerplate documents, directing pre-award submission processes and post-award set-up processes, preparing monthly financial reports for principal investigators, and preparing quarterly financial reports and invoice backup documentation for all externally sponsored projects.
  • Serves as a liaison with external sponsors and internal Rutgers units regarding administrative and reporting requirements for grants and contracts.
  • Programmatic duties include supporting coordination, management, and communication across CUPR programs and projects, assisting with external communication strategies and web/social media content, and supporting the center directors with strategic planning efforts.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a BS degree in a planning or public policy related field, plus five years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates knowledge and understanding of policy/planning concepts, budgeting/financial management, and programmatic support.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be fluent in Excel including pivot tables, look ups, and other advanced features.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of university accounting systems, i.e., Marketplace, Cornerstone, HCM, RAPSS, desired.
  • Knowledge and experience using Access and/or SQL, Tableau, OTBI customization desired.
  • Knowledge or experience with planning and policy issues.
  • Experience with the submission and management of university grants and contracts.
