Job Summary:
This position provides payroll and benefit support to the department's 50+ faculty, 40+ academic staff, 3 university staff and approximately 300 graduate and 1000 undergraduate students. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to accept and initiate new projects and learn new skills on a regular basis. They will also have a team-oriented work style, a proven ability to focus and independently oversee and organize multiple projects simultaneously and with tight deadlines, strict attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills, strong communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and critical and conceptual thinking skills. Responsibilities: Processes payroll, receives employee payroll changes, and provides routine human resources information to one or more work units in order to ensure timely and accurate payroll transaction processing. Maintains personnel records and assists with work unit operational policy development. Provides accurate, timely, and comprehensive benefit information and counseling to employees to assist audiences in understanding benefits eligibility, selection, and enrollment rules.
