GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Data Protection Services Analyst is an operational role focusing on operational configurations and policy management of real time data protection technologies. The Data Protection Services Analyst actively monitors and manages the continuous protection of systems monitoring information assets by contributing to or leading in the implementation and execution of data protection technologies. Responsibilities include protecting both cloud and on-premises infrastructures, monitoring the effectiveness of organizational data protection systems, events, and alerts. The Data Protection Services Analyst position is a valued member of the team and will work closely with others to develop and implement a comprehensive approach to the management of data security risks. The Data Protection Services Analyst reports directly to the Manager Data Protection Services. This position will work in a collaborative effort with the Information Privacy and Security Office and business units to ensure security programs and technical controls follow policies, applicable laws, and regulations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Establish relationships with key stakeholders across multiple business units to
develop, deploy, and operate effective data protection solutions.
* Support in the integration of data protection solutions with E-mail, Security
Information and Event Management (SIEM), User Behavior-Analysis, endpoint, and
other relevant technologies.
* Assist in the triage, investigation, and resolution of incidents that involve theft or loss
of consumer data, employee data, business sensitive data, and/or intellectual
property.
* Serve as the functional expert from the user's perspective, understanding
requirements, processes, and automation needs.
* Lead efforts to increase efficiency and controls (tuning, policy, training, and
awareness content) for data protection technologies.
* Manage relationships that contribute to expanding data protection coverage,
identifying sensitive data types, and communicating changes to end-users.
* Assist in supporting solutions research, implementation, testing of configurations.
* Collaborate on design and configuration of data protection endpoint software
packages.
* Create and maintain technical documentation.
* Support any data protection related audit or controls testing processes.
* Generate and publish data protection metrics.
* Vet and fulfill requests for exceptions to security policies/standards.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Bachelor degree in computer science, information assurance, Information
Technology OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 4 years equivalent experience
(Information Security, IT) will be considered.
* Familiarity with Data Protection capabilities such as data discovery, data labeling,
data inventory, Cloud Access Security Broker technology, log integration, and
information rights management.
* Experience with a range of data protection products; e-mail defense
technologies; vulnerability management principles; proxy firewall architecture,
Active Directory, networking, and server knowledge.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
