JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care at Penn State College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, seeks an accomplished researcher for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor position within the Van Scoy Communication Lab. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research, implementation science and community engaged research methods.

The position requires a completed DrPH or PhD in public health, health services research, or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate a strong track record of successful grant writing, manuscript publication, and project management. We seek someone with proven expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research design, implementation science, and advanced knowledge of IRB procedures. Advanced experience with REDCap, MAXQDA software, and NIH grant management, including budget administration and oversight, is essential.

Key responsibilities include developing research partnerships, leading mixed methods studies, analyzing complex data, helping write and submit NIH grants, and independently preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will manage research budgets, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise research staff. They will also contribute to our educational mission by teaching graduate-level research methods courses and mentoring students and junior faculty.

This is a limited-termnon-tenure lineposition funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
