Director of Residency Wellness - Henry Ford Providence Hospital

Henry Ford Providence is seeking a Director of Residency Wellness that is a pivotal leadership role within the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive wellness initiatives for residents and trainees. Reporting to the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) or other institutional leaders, this role focuses on fostering a culture of well-being, addressing the mental health needs of trainees, and ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements for wellness.

The GME programs at Henry Ford Providence have increased in capacity; we have now 22 programs, including the newly accredited Integrated Vascular residency program and colon and rectal fellowship programs through ACGME. We currently have 252 residents and fellows and our institution accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and Council on Podiatric Medical Education has been renewed and in good standing. On October 1, 2024 our sponsoring institution along with three other sponsoring institutions from Ascension Michigan joined the joint venture of under Henry Ford Health, but we remain an independent sponsoring institution with all our accrediting organizations and maintained our organizational structure.

Qualifications



  • Advanced degree in psychology (PhD, PsyD)
  • Experience in graduate medical education and a strong understanding of trainee wellness needs.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead institutional well-being programs.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.


Additional Requirements



  • Demonstrated experience in mental health support and/or educational program development.
  • Familiarity with ACGME requirements and CLER processes.
  • Experience in handling sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
