About the role:

CLA is looking to hire a Consultant Relationship Director for our growing Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice. CAAS provides customized accounting support on an interim and project basis for our clients - public, private and nonprofits ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies. We are looking for someone to build relationships with and be the front-line contact for our consultants.

As a Consultant Relationship Director, you will:

  • Determine relevant consultant skill sets needed to support various market and industry focused requirements.
  • Deploy strategies to retain current consultants, and to maximize utilization of consultants to limit their downtime between assignments.
  • Responsible for sourcing between 100-175 prospective client opportunities per year and serve as the point of contact for the duration of the client engagement.
  • Analyze consultant skill sets and schedules to determine the most appropriate consultant options for proposed client projects that enables CLA to secure the client work.
  • Collaborate with multiple members/leaders of the client relationship team and manage the full lifecycle of consultant project placement.
  • Responsible for the in interview, selection, and onboarding efforts for consultants for designated markets.
  • Serve as a coach to consultants. Trouble-shoot as needed client issues, scheduling issues, and team dynamics.
  • Manage accountabilities for multiple markets and supervise typically ~40+ consultants.
  • Help promote a strong CLA culture; work to retain current consultants and positively impact consultant satisfaction/retention/impeccable client service.

What you will need:

  • A minimum of 8 years of work experience in professional services or client service delivery.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field required.
  • CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a full-time accounting role (private or public) or consulting with a focus in either Audit, Accounting, and/or Finance preferred.
  • Prior experience hiring team members and managing teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
