Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

This role reports on a day-to-day basis to the Angola Principal Inspection Engineer. Responsible for the effective provision and operation of corrosion management systems and services to the allocated site(s), to ensure, in conjunction with the Senior Inspection Engineer, that the integrity of plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies and UK legislation, ensuring feedback of results to the Client Senior Corrosion Engineer.

Functions

* Ensure compliance to Regulatory requirements and client standards.

* Support Operations Managerin appropriate aspects of management of Oceaneering contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management.

* Assist in development of Client integrity strategy documentation and ensure implementation of corrosion management control strategy.

* Provide technical leadership and authority in designated corrosion engineering discipline, designating work where applicable to assistant engineers within their technical capabilities, and verify assistant engineer output.

* Conduct and manage the risk-based assessment process on behalf of the client and provide corrosion expertise and effectively interact with multi-disciplinary RBA or other process groups.

* Provide input to the production and ongoing management of the asset Annual Inspection Plans and client planning process compliance for corrosion monitoring activities.

* Assist the Senior Inspection Engineer in the production of pipework and vessel inspection work scopes and work packs.

* Ensure the effective application of innovative inspection and corrosion engineering applications and specialist technologies.

* Function as asset lead for corrosion, including provision of recommendations for remediation of anomalies and failures.

* Undertake or co-ordinate failure investigations into material and corrosion issues in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures.

* Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion/inspection monitoring data.

* Recommend changes in corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programmes where appropriate.

* Deliver periodic reports, corrosion status of systems, identification, and assessment of significant trends from surveys and Chemical and Corrosion Control Matrices (CCCMs)

* Maintain appropriate level of contact with Asset Teams, 3rd Parties and internal disciplines to ensure an effective Corrosion Management service.

* Compilation of Quarterly and Annual Integrity Status Reporting with support from Inspection Engineers onshore and offshore.

* Assist the Operations Manager to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables and overall management of the service.

Qualifications

* Degree in Chemical Engineering related discipline (Expected)

* Postgraduate qualification in corrosion (Preferred)

* Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent (Preferred)

* Offshore medical and survival certification (Expected)
