About the Job

Duties:

Patient Recruitment & Outreach (30%)
Identify and recruit appropriate patients for clinical research protocols through referrals from Pulmonary clinics and external providers across multiple states.
Review medical records and conduct pre-screening of 60-80 patients, screen 10-15 patients, and identify 4-5 participants per study cycle.
Disseminate information about current projects to referring physicians and potential patients through mail, phone, or in-person communication.
Provide weekly updates on recruitment activities to monitors, sponsors, and PIs.

Informed Consent & Participant Support (20%)
Obtain and document informed consent from participants and re-consent existing subjects as required by protocol amendments.
Ensure participants fully understand study details, their commitment, and alternatives to participation.
Facilitate meetings between participants and the PI when necessary to address questions or concerns.
Keep participants and staff informed of protocol updates and changes.

Protocol Coordination & Resource Management (30%)
Schedule participant visits across multiple departments, including CRU, LRCU, imaging centers, and laboratories.
Oversee participant visits, ensuring smooth execution of all protocol-specific activities, including testing and data collection.
Maintain study equipment and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and optimal functionality.
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to manage visit logistics and resolve scheduling conflicts.

Documentation & Compliance (20%)
Maintain accurate and organized source documents and ensure each study has a unique identifier in the system.
Complete required training for various systems and stay updated on changes to maintain compliance.
Prepare for and facilitate external monitoring visits, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and accessible for review.
Manage monitor access to EMR systems and provide workspaces during site visits.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (Must be documented on all application materials)
BA/BS degree plus at least four years of relevant experience, or advanced degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling at least eight years.
Familiarity with clinical research protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient recruitment processes.
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and data management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (e.g., CCRC, CCRP).
Previous experience in Pulmonary, Allergy, or Critical Care research.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: Starting pay range begins at $62,809 - $73,410, depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 75%-100% Appointment
