Job Summary:
The Academic Advisor positions are part of the College of Letters & Science Academic Advising Services team (L&S AAS, https://advising.ls.wisc.edu/), a unit in L&S Student Academic Affairs. L&S AAS serves as an entry point for undergraduate students in the College, which has growing academic programs and welcomes several thousand new first-year and transfer students each year. L&S AAS is a generalist advising unit that advises undeclared students across all 65+ majors in the College of Letters & Sciences and collaborates with other academic and student services units. Responsibilities: Engages students in decision making processes and promotes appropriate and responsible choices on academic matters such as course selection and degree requirements. Maintains appropriate confidentiality, updates student advising records, and contributes to the development and delivery of academic advising related events and programs. Works to ensure students receive accurate, timely, and holistic advising services in support of promoting student success, retention, and program completion.
