Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Summer Camp Nurse for the Rutgers Rec Kids Summer Camp Program. The summer camp is a 7-week program that averages around 115 children a week, ranging from 5-11 years of age.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Oversees the health and safety of camper participants and staff.
  • Manages online database of camper's health records.
  • Reviews and organizes health and immunization forms provided by camper families.
  • Treats injuries and illnesses at camp.
  • Acts as a liaison to camp parents, camp staff and health providers.
  • Stores, tracks and administers medication to camper participants and staff.
  • Maintains and tracks health records including, but not limited to; treatment logs, medication logs and incident reports.
  • Processes all medications and supplies related to all off-site trips.
  • Chaperones camp day trips as needed.
  • Assists with camper check-in and dismissal.
  • Assists with other camp administrative duties.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of medical and health care.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications

  • Up to 2 years + of relevant experience in a medical setting.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills,.
  • Computer literacy.

Equipment Utilized
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be available to work a shift between 8am-5:30pm.
