JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Position Overview
The College of IST Marketing and Communications Office is seeking a Social Media Intern to help strengthen the student voice on our social platforms. This role is ideal for a creative and motivated student who understands social media trends and wants to help showcase the diverse experiences of IST students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and publish engaging social media content that highlights student life, achievements, and events in IST.
  • Assist with maintaining a social media content calendar to ensure a steady stream of fresh and relevant content.
  • Collaborate with the IST Diplomats group and potentially oversee a team of student volunteers (IST Influencers) to expand our reach and bring multiple student perspectives to our platforms.
  • Attend IST events and capture content to share across social channels.
  • Monitor engagement and contribute ideas to enhance audience interaction.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills with an eye for visual content.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
  • Comfortable engaging with students and faculty to gather content.
  • Experience with content creation tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or mobile video editing apps is a plus.

  • Compensation:$15/hour
