The Experimental High Energy Physics (HEP) group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota seeks candidates for a postdoc position to work on the CMS experiment at the LHC. The position will be based at the University of Minnesota. The University of Minnesota group has interests in several particle physics topics including searches for new particles and measurements of Higgs boson and weak boson properties as observed in proton-proton collisions. The group has particular interest in the use of machine learning techniques to enable new analysis strategies, as well as the application of deep understanding of the detector to enable novel physics studies. The group also has a leading role in the development and construction of the CMS high granularity endcap calorimeter for the HL-LHC. The successful candidate will have significant involvement in both data analysis and detector construction and commissioning.
