Pantheon Data was founded in 2011, initially providing acquisition and supply chain management services to the US Coast Guard. Our service offerings have grown in the past ten years, including infrastructure resiliency, contact center operations, information technology, software engineering, program management, strategic communications, engineering, and cybersecurity. We have also grown our customer base to include commercial clients. The company has used this experience to expand our service offerings to other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal Civilian Agencies.

Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a Staff Data Engineer with a background in architecture of data-centric technical solutions who is technically proficient and eager to learn. A successful candidate should have a history of hands-on experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL pipelines. He/she will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers as well as less technical team members (e.g., project managers, customers, executive teams).

Responsibilities



  • Inform product decisions by analyzing customer's technology landscape, business processes, and data requirements.
  • Develop data pre-processing and analytics code using Python, R, and similar languages in support of client requirements.
  • Contribute to ETL pipeline solutions that ingest and process data from many distinct sources.
  • Create and manipulate cloud-based data warehouse(s) that provide inputs to predictive models.
  • Work within a growing engineering team to build and support technical solutions across customers and projects.
  • Collaborate with team leads/members to design and develop solutions that exceed customer expectations.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years professional, hands-on experience in a data engineering role.
  • Strong experience with Python
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure. Certification(s) a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Git/GitHub and/or GitLab
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with a strong commitment to quality.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • U.S. citizenship required -- must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.


Preferred Skills and Experience



  • Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Experience with project tasking tools, like JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience building and orchestrating ETL pipelines in Databricks.
  • Experience using big data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Spark, EMR, etc.)
  • SQL, relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with AI/ML workflows a plus.


Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location: United States - Remote

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
