The Distribution Center Shipping/Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing both incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure all products are accurately received, processed, documented, and shipped in a timely and efficient manner. This is a very fast-paced role with multiple tasks happening concurrently. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task continually throughout the day, effectively prioritize tasks, and adapt quickly to shifting demands.
This role is highly computer-focused and requires a significant amount of time spent managing tasks digitally. You'll be handling a high volume of emails and using various software tools to ensure smooth operations. Strong computer proficiency, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills are essential for success in this position.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and addressing parcels. Verify and maintain accurate shipping records by comparing product details, shipment quantities, and customer orders.
  • Generate shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels. Utilize shipping software and systems to track and record shipments.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify the accuracy of packing slips against purchase orders, and inspect goods for damage or discrepancies. Collaborate with Distribution Center team to maintain an organized and efficient shipping area ensuring prompt distribution of received materials.
  • Accurately enter receiving data into SAP, ensuring proper inventory tracking and documentation.
  • Address and resolve any shipping-related issues, including discrepancies, delays, or damaged goods and returns.
  • Plan and communicate with various levels of the company, including the corporate office frequently, while being flexible and professional.
  • Other duties as requested, including inventory control activities and general housekeeping of warehouse.
Required Skills:
  • High attention to detail, accuracy in handling shipping documentation, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience using SAP in a distribution, logistics, or warehouse environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency with the ability to navigate multiple software systems efficiently.
  • Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, reporting to supervisors, and following instructions.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with truck drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including walking, lifting, carrying, and moving throughout the distribution center for extended periods over an 8 or 10-hour shift, with 15-minute breaks.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching, especially when handling shipments.
  • Periods of intense physical activity followed by periods of stationary, seated office work.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse conditions, including exposure to different temperatures, noise levels, and dust.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull items up to 50lbs.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with various shipping carriers, logistics processes, and inventory management systems.
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous experience in a shipping and receiving role within a fast-paced distribution center.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required.
POSITION INFORMATION

This position pays $17.50-$20.00 per hour depending on experience
