Cash Applications Analyst

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Payment Processing:
    • Apply customer payments to accounts accurately and promptly, ensuring that all payments are correctly posted in the financial system.
    • Reconcile payments with invoices, credit memos, and any deductions.
  2. Data Entry and Reporting:
    • Input and maintain customer payment information into financial systems.
    • Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports on cash applications.
  3. Customer Communication:
    • Address customer payment-related inquiries or discrepancies.
    • Work with customers to resolve payment issues or disputes and ensure timely resolution.
  4. Cash Application Reconciliation:
    • Ensure all payments are accounted for, and discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
    • Monitor and follow up on aged receivables and unapplied cash.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline cash application procedures.
    • Collaborate with the finance or accounting team to improve workflows and enhance the cash application process.
  6. Account Management:
    • Ensure that accounts are accurately maintained and up-to-date.
    • Collaborate with the collections and credit teams to maintain accurate financial records.

Required Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, etc.) and accounting software (ERP systems).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and general accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a cash applications or accounts receivable role.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
