Posting Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Student Enrollment Services, the Office of Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions at Rutgers University-Camden is seeking a temporary, part-time, Transfer Credit Evaluator to evaluate transfer coursework for new and current Rutgers University-Camden students. This position will involve independently evaluating transfer coursework from accredited collegiate-level institutions in accordance with current articulation agreements and institutional transfer credit policies, maintenance of web-accessed databases containing course equivalencies, and collaborate with various Rutgers University-Camden departments to ensure students experience a seamless transfer process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Enter and evaluate transfer coursework from community colleges, universities, and related collegiate-level institutions to determine credit equivalency to Rutgers University-Camden courses.
* Provide timely notated transfer summary reports (TSRs) to admitted and enrolled students.
* Check for course repetitions and verify accreditation of educational institutions attended by students.
* Audit final official undergraduate transcripts and notating degree(s) earned.
* Contribute to the maintenance of New Jersey's NJ Transfer (public-facing database) and RU Transfer (internal database) to provide up-to-date course equivalencies for potential transfer students.
* Ensure that all approved transfer courses, from official transcripts, are entered into the Student Record Database and display accurately in Degree Navigator.
* Communicate and consult with other reviewers and supervisors to discuss complex cases and ensure consistency in course evaluations.
* Collaborate with the Admission's team, department chairs, program coordinators and academic advisors in reviewing syllabi, college catalogs, and other documents to evaluate and apply transfer credits.
* Maintain confidentiality regarding student records in compliance with state and federal laws in accordance with the Federal Education Records Protection Act ( FERPA).
* Perform other related duties assigned by the Manager of Student Enrollment Services, Executive Director, or other senior management as appropriate.
* Explains evaluation determinations, as needed.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Position Salary Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, within university policy and salary schedules, as well as departmental budgets.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
*Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
*Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior experience in academic advising, admissions, or transfer credit evaluations
* Knowledge of academic transfer policies and procedures
* Experience working with international and military transcripts.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
* Strong analytical, reading, and writing skills with the ability to synthesize information quickly.
* Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, specifically Word and Excel.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
* Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality.
* Strong decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with data entry.
Additional Information:
* Candidates who are employees at another undergraduate institution cannot be considered for this role.
* Hours that may vary from week-to-week, not to exceed 20 hours per week.
* Casual transfer evaluators are expected to attend mandatory training and work 10-20 hours per week during peak times (December - January and March - September).
* Candidates must have access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a private, secure workspace.
