About the Job

The University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a Clinician Track position in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

This faculty position consists of:
*0.90 clinical FTE serving as an inpatient attending, primarily working on the Child & Adolescent inpatient units. The position also includes coverage of the ED and CL services. This work includes teaching and supervision of residents and medical students, leading and participating in case reviews and conferences for education.
*0.10 academic FTE to support the missions of the University and medical school.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
*Provide professional psychiatric Child & Adolescent inpatient services for the University of Minnesota Medical Center academic units.
*Work with the inpatient psychiatry team and clinical leadership to provide evidence-based inpatient services.
*Work collaboratively with inpatient leadership to achieve the missions of clinical, education, and research.
*Partner with administrative leadership to maintain and constantly improve high-quality, patient-centered care.
*Lead by example and engage learners and staff in creating a positive work environment that values excellence and teamwork and continually strives to exceed patient and family expectations.
*Support coverage for other providers when needed. This includes providing weekend and consult coverage as delivered in the call schedule. and Pediatric ED and Pediatric CL coverage.

In keeping with the University's mission, responsibilities will also include participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, clinical practice through UMPhysicians, and participation in service activities and quality improvement initiatives on behalf of the department, the medical school, and your profession.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
*Graduate of an accredited AAMC Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training program.
*Board eligible/certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
*Licensed or able to obtain medical license and license from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in the State of Minnesota and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
*Able to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:
*Candidates will have some experience teaching, have demonstrated outstanding clinical practice, and have demonstrated a track record of scholarly activity.

Pay and Benefits

This role is dually employed by the University of Minnesota and University of Minnesota Physicians. Salary at the University of Minnesota is dependent upon academic effort of the person hired, and begins at $55,000.

Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through University of Minnesota Physicians. Total salary is competitive with market and based on AAMC salary benchmarks.
