Position Summary
The Reservation Specialist provides onsite administrative and client support to events scheduled through Event Services.
The position is customer-facing in a busy Student Union and requires a highly professional, enthusiastic, and team-oriented individual.
This position will support the Reservation Manager in supervising student staff.
The position will be essential in efficiently processing the high volume of venue requests received by Reservations for Carolina Union managed spaces.
This position will also support the invoice process to ensure accurate and timely release of invoices from Event Services. This position will also be required to run reports on the Carolina Union's event scheduling software and filter data to the appropriate parties.
This position will provide consistent desk coverage during peak class time when student staff are unavailable.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
-6 months of related event scheduling, event management experience or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with 25Live and Microsoft 365.
Experience working in a student union or similar environments.
Experience working in a customer service-focused environment.
Knowledge and awareness of event management and technical event production.
Experience working in a customer service-focused environment.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with or without accommodation and work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
