Position Summary |
We are seeking an Advanced Business Services Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our department and serves as a vital link between faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders. This position is on-site with some flexibility for hybrid work based on business needs. The Advanced Business Services Coordinator position has several roles within the unit, including facilities management, procurement, accounts payable and receivable, parking coordination, equipment/inventory/surplus, shipping/receiving, and travel coordination. Key responsibilities of this role include coordinating department travel arrangements, managing shipping and receiving operations, handling accounts payable and receivable, assisting finance staff as needed, including account reconciliations, internal auditing, and maintaining backup documentation, while also overseeing procurement processes.
This position operates the main line to the department and serves as a first point of contact and resource for our department's faculty, staff, and students. This is a
CDME position that performs functions that are absolutely essential to the continuation of core university operations during a health emergency or any emergency prepared plan. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a track record of managing complex administrative tasks.
They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining core university operations, especially during emergency situations. The successful applicant will demonstrate resilience and adaptability in the face of changing circumstances.
Strong customer service skills, excellent organizational and prioritization skills, ability to meet deadlines, and multitask effectively. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivated, and independent work ethic. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Applicants who are detail-oriented professionals with a passion for streamlining business processes and providing exceptional service are encouraged to apply. Applicants who have the ability to perform essential functions during emergencies, including health crises as well as those with proficiency in interacting with
UNC central offices, external vendors, and guests are preferred. Adaptability to balance various demands of the position is a plus. |
