Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Political Science resides within the College of Arts and Sciences. The Department of Political Science is the fourth largest undergraduate major in the College with more than 700 majors, a graduate program of approximately 80 students in residence and 38 tenure/tenure-track and fixed-term faculty. The Department of Political Science at

The Department is committed to providing instruction in data and politics that empowers all our students to think analytically and critically about the way data impacts politics and our world. |
Position Summary |
This teaching-track position includes 80% teaching and 20% service to the department/college. The service portion includes, but is not limited to search committees, review committees and administrative roles within the department and/or College. The current department teaching load for teaching track faculty is 6 courses per year, 5 of which need to cover Foundations of American Democracy. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
ABD or Ph.D or an equivalent degree in Political Science, Public Policy or a related field in the humanities or social sciences. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Applicants should have expertise in teaching American Politics and Foundations of American Democracy. |
