JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Meteorology has an opening for a Research Assistant Position. Project description A research assistant position is open at the Penn State University Micrometeorology Laboratory. The position involves developing illustrations for technical reports related to atmospheric science research projects. These illustrations will conceptually visualize atmospheric processes occurring in the lower atmosphere. Examples of such processes include the cycling of trace gases and water vapor in the Amazon rainforest. Figures need to be created to display spatial and temporal patterns of trace gas distribution in the lower layers of the atmosphere.

The position is paid at a rate of $20 per hour and is for a total of four weeks of employment. The number of hours per week is flexible. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in art design, particularly in creating illustrations that convey complex concepts and environmental datasets. Some experience in computer programming using Python will be an asset. The start date is any time after February 10, 2025.
