THE POSITION

Do you want your technical information technology (IT) work to provide a variety of IT support functions for agencies and offices that directly improve quality of life, including all Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) clinics? This IT Generalist 1 position with the Health and Human Services (HHS) IT Delivery Center is the role for you! We provide end-to-end IT services to all staff in the Department of Human Services, the Department of Health, the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs, and the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will provide first contact technical support to users in the departments we serve for desktop hardware, software, and network communication related issues. This includes providing technical assistance via phone calls to the Service Desk and email notifications from internal and external customers, as well as documenting call information, following standard procedures, and assisting with diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software problems. Our team will also rely on you to promote user self-help guidance, assist second level support with diagnostics and testing related to computer hardware and software issues, and communicate clearly when working with staff to assist in problem resolution. With our team, your IT work will help our Community Health Systems, various State Health Centers, and other offices continue to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of all people in Pennsylvania. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You must come into the office ONE DAY A WEEK AT A MINIMUM. You will be expected to work from home (telework) for the reminder of your work schedule, but this could change, and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. The office is headquartered at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg. You must have a securely configured high-speed Internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Salary: Selected candidates, who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $58,035.00.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician; or
- One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
- Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
