DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As the Clerical Assistant 2 in this position, you will act as the primary receptionist and provide clerical support to the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. A considerable amount of independence is needed in determining priorities and carrying out responsibilities. The ability to handle multiple tasks effectively is key in this position. You will serve as the initial point of contact for the Department's General Information and Licensing telephone lines and refer inquiries to the appropriate staff as necessary. Training is required to develop an overall understanding of the department, its structure and its programs. Daily tasks are generally completed independently within established department guidelines. Direct supervision of this position is provided by the Administrative Officer 2.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.
- Free parking at this facility.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
