DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be tasked with ensuring that all welding activities comply with established quality and safety standards while working collaboratively with the team to facilitate successful project execution. Your duties will encompass welding, brazing, soldering, and metal cutting on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. You will carry out cutting and welding tasks utilizing arc, acetylene, or MIG welding equipment on all departmental machinery and equipment. This role requires you to work autonomously, effectively executing skilled trade responsibilities that include repairing components, performing structural welding on bridge elements, and addressing issues related to equipment frames, hitches, and plows. Additionally, you will adeptly fabricate repair parts and body components for various applications. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures; or
- Completion of an approved welder apprentice program; or
- A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have or be willing to obtain the welding certification to be able to weld on bridges within the six-month probationary period.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
