Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate III for the Anesthesiology Department within New Jersey Medical School.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Participate in experimental design; carries out experiments specific to mu opioid receptor mechanisms.
  • Carry out various technical and research operations relating to electrophysiology, patch clamp techniques.
  • Compile and present statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
  • Instruct students, fellows and technicians in various procedures, to carry out assignments in the laboratory.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications for the funding of research activities.
  • Understand and adhere to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keep abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience.
  • Or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Master's Degree in a relevant science plus one (1) year of related research experience, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant science plus two (2) years of related research experience. PhDs welcome.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhDs welcome.
Equipment Utilized
  • General cellular lab equipment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
