As part of an interdisciplinary team, this position is responsible for providing evaluations, assessments and/or intervention using a behavioral approach (Applied Behavior Analysis) for children under the age of three and their families within the Early Intervention Program. Services are provided within the natural environment to enhance functional behavior in the home and community settings. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Behaviourist Early Intervention at Hackensack Meridian Health includes: 1. Provides Developmental Intervention to children and their families. Designs and implements behavioral programs to improve the quality of life of children and families. Coordinates with team members and caregivers for IFSP review meetings. Trains families in implementing behavioral home programs and collecting data when appropriate. Utilizes ongoing reassessment to modify outcomes/strategies and behavior programs. Demonstrates knowledge of community resources. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Degree in Special Education, Autism, Psychology or related area.
2. Minimum of two years clinical experience in Early Intervention including autism spectrum disorder, behavior and Applied Behavior Analysis practices. Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. As indicated by the NJ Department of Health and Senior Services Practitioner Requirements for enrollment in Early Intervention.
