The Vendramini-Francescone Lab is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual for a post-doctoral position. The lab is focused on better understanding the tumor microenvironment in pancreatic cancer, with a specific emphasis on fibroblast biology and means to revert their highly immunosuppressive capacity. Ideally, the candidate would possess, or be willing to learn, the following skills: flow cytometry/cell sorting, handle mice and coordinate mouse breeding, perform animal models of pancreatic cancer, isolate and characterize immune cells from mice and human samples, design and carry out experiments independently, contribute to the writing of manuscripts and grant proposals, work well in a team, and present their work at national/international conferences, academic institutions, or workshops. GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of a senior investigator, designs, executes, analyzes, and interprets various laboratory experiments with a focus on current scientific questions, as identified by the senior scientists.
