Department:ICE \| MUSL \| TOSH Inpatient Therapy Department's Website: Summary of Job Duties:The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital at UAMS is seeking a qualified inpatient physical therapist to cover weekend needs. At $60/hour, the inpatient physical therapist should have experience treating post-operative total joint and spine conditions. The physical therapist provides an individualized evaluation, during which the client, family/caregiver, and physical therapist determine the patient's goals, customize interventions to optimize the person's ability to perform functional activities, and continuously assess progress towards goals to ensure goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient's needs and skills. Functional outcomes data is completed through collection of best practice data via patient questionnaires, performance measures, and documented treatment interventions. Skills include but are not limited to the following: evaluation and establishing plans of care, therapy reassessments to adjust plans of care when appropriate, functional performance reassessment for discharge planning, screenings to determine appropriateness of therapy, daily treatments which may consist of: gait training, transfer training, functional mobility, balance training, endurance training, strength training, therapeutic exercise, pool therapy, functional performance testing, orthotic measurement, orthotic fitting and adjustment, and patient and family education. Appropriate patient documentation per department, HIPAA and JCAHO standards where applicable. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2002 OR Master's degree in Physical Therapy if graduated prior to 2016 OR Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy; Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy or eligible for licensure Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree OR Doctorate in Physical Therapy; 2 years of experience in Physical Therapy Additional Information: Responsibilities: Completes direct and indirect patient care to evaluate, create plans of care, coordinate care, educate, and treat patients. Completes best practice patient care documentation and appropriate review of patient PHI prior to implementing and during direct patient care plans for both insurance reimbursement and Joint Commission standards. Initiates multi-disciplinary collaborative efforts with referring providers to communicate patient progress and outcomes to ensure best practice patient care provided.
