Job Summary:
This position will assist in the multi-faceted administrative and operational needs of the Wellbeing department of Recreation & Wellbeing (Rec Well), including programs such as peer wellness coaching, peer wellness education, wellbeing workshops, massage therapy, and mindful meditation. This position works directly with professional and student staff by completing tasks, coordinating outreach and events, assisting with the hiring processes, and developing and facilitating wellbeing opportunities across campus for students.
Responsibilities:
Arranges logistics, provides broad administrative oversight, and implements programmatic changes for one or more recreational programs to efficiently provide a broad range of recreational services to the institutional community. Develops marketing and communication materials for promotion to students, staff, and customers; and assists with recreational program staff recruitment and development.
- 25% Coordinates logistics for events and programs
- 15% Develops targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals
- 20% Identifies, proposes, and implements new or revised operational policies and procedures
- 15% Assists in implementing the staffing resource allocation plan including hiring, training, and supervision
- 5% Prepares and monitors budgets and purchases expenditures as needed
- 10% Engages in the Rec Well professional internship development curriculum, all staff meetings, divisional committees, and other professional development responsibilities and opportunities.
- 10% Creates and implements materials, workshops, and programming to support the needs of the department
Tasks:
- Complete administrative and communication tasks for wellbeing programs such as peer wellness coaching, peer wellness education, massage, and mindful meditation.
- Work with each unique program area to increase awareness through communication strategies across campus.
- Take a critical look at the current wellbeing programming and recommend strategies to improve operational processes; take the lead on creating appropriate deliverables with support.
- Assist in training and evaluating wellbeing student employees, and participate in the hiring process of new wellbeing student staff; may include the opportunity to directly supervise 10-20 student staff.
- Support the development and facilitation of wellbeing workshops to student groups, classes, and campus departments.
- Participate and engage fully in professional development and leadership opportunities including the professional intern curriculum and managing professional development funds for applicable events and trainings.

Education:
Required H.S. Diploma
Preferred Bachelor's Degree Achieve or advancing towards Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. Cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75

Work Schedule:
Typical working hours are weekdays from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with some evening and weekend hours required. The position averages 30 hours per week.
Work Type:
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal appointment. This position has the possibility to be extended based on need and/or funding.
Salary:
$22.00 HOURLY This position is not eligible for housing, benefits, or health insurance.
Additional Information:
Professional Internship - The academic year internship is a limited-term position lasting nine months or up to a total of 1,040 hours. - Employment is expected to run approximately from mid-August 2025 to mid-May 2026. - Compensation is $22 per hour, based on an average of 30 hours per week. - The intern will receive time off during university breaks (approximately four weeks, unpaid). - Opportunities for professional development funding support may be available.
