Insurance Quality Analyst Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quality Analyst with expertise in the Life Insurance and Annuity domain and a strong background in API testing. This role focuses on ensuring the accuracy and quality of insurance products through comprehensive testing. You will collaborate with business analysts, developers, and product owners to ensure compliance with functional and regulatory requirements. This role includes testing front-end features and backend APIs that support key insurance functionalities. It requires onsite presence three days per week in Durham, NC. Responsibilities:
- Requirements Analysis: Work with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and business analysts to gather requirements and create test scenarios aligned with business goals and compliance standards.
- Test Case Development: Design, document, and maintain test cases for functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- API Testing: Validate API endpoints, data consistency, and performance using tools like Postman or SoapUI. Ensure APIs meet specifications and security standards.
- Defect Tracking: Identify, log, and track software defects using tools such as JIRA, providing detailed reproduction steps for developers.
- Collaboration: Partner with developers, product owners, and business analysts to resolve issues and deploy high-quality software solutions.
- Regression Testing: Conduct regular regression testing to ensure new features do not impact existing functionalities, particularly in policy management and claims processing.
- Data Validation: Verify the accuracy of critical business data, such as policy information, premium calculations, and claims processing.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support: Assist stakeholders during UAT by providing detailed test results and supporting issue resolution.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test cases, results, and defect reports to ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Domain-Specific Testing: Perform testing for life insurance and annuity products, focusing on features like policy servicing, illustrations, accounting, and claims.
- Automation Collaboration: Work with automation teams to create reusable API test scripts and support automated regression testing.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in test case design, defect reporting, and test management tools like JIRA.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and integrity checks.
- Experience with life insurance or annuity software platforms (e.g., FAST, Vitech, OIPA, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with automation tools like Selenium is a plus.
