Job Summary

The anticipated duration of this temporary assignment is approximately 6 months.
The position will assist the CRC or CRC supervisor with coordination of single or multiple clinical research studies, including - abstract medical records (minimal) ie: print test results; assisting in scheduling participant research visits; assisting in collecting research data; assisting in transferring research specimens to the research labs; managing reports on study enrollment and accrual managing research regulatory documentations; attending study meetings; assisting a CRC or the CRC supervisor with preparation for internal and external audits or reviews of study protocols; and other duties as assigned.

Department Description

UCSF's Temporary Employment Program (TEP) recruits and hires temporary employees for immediate clerical and technical support services to UCSF Departments and various off-campus locations. UCSF departments deploy temporary employees to work on special projects, fill in for regular employees who are on vacation or leave, or to temporarily fill a vacant position during recruitment. Frequently temporary employees become successful candidates for career and limited appointment positions.

Required Qualifications


  • High School graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities
  • A CRC must have current CITI certification/ HIPAA training before she/he works with human research (this can be completed after hiring)
  • Moderate to high degree of communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner, prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Background using Apex, Redcap, or OnCore
  • Blood handling certification
  • Experience with electronic medical records
  • Prior experience working on research or in a health/medical environment
