EDS' Windows Update service reaches over a billion devices, keeping them secure and up to date. The team is hiring fora Principal Software Engineering Managerto lead the Platform and Infrastructure team which is responsible for building a modern compliant microservice cloud platform for the distribution system that serves Microsoft customers across the world.As Principal Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly motivated engineers in solving complex problems, driving the adoption of good engineering practices and collaborating across groups to deliver successful outcomes.Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. ResponsibilitiesDrive and support partnership with appropriate stakeholders to determine platform and infrastructure requirements within and across teams.Develop strategies to improve release processes, incorporate automated testing, and optimize developer workflows.Promote the adoption of edge technologies to empower developers and advance organizational goals.Seek new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of the infrastructure and services.Guide teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.Lead and mentor ahighperforming, talented group of engineers and foster a diverse, inclusive, and result driven team culture.Model, coach, and care for employees and peers, helping everyone to bring their best self to work and enable their career growth. | |
