Job Summary

This position will work with the PIs, other department personnel, and sponsors to support and provide guidance on the administration of the regulatory coordination, compliance, personnel, and other related aspects of Otolaryngology clinical studies. Clinical research coordinators are expected to work independently with general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator Certification through SoCRA
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical trial experience.
  • Knowledge of, experience in, and ability to successfully conduct clinical trials in adherence with Good Clinical Practice, IRB policies and ICH regulations.
  • Math proficiency to the algebra level.
  • Skills to communicate effectively with higher level faculty members and PIs in a cohesive manner yet still meeting research objectives
  • Demonstrated skills to set timelines, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills
  • Significant computer skills to proficiently use Microsoft Word and Excel, databases and online tools for study data collection and monitoring.
  • Ability to provide accurate information on a timely basis.
  • Skills to use diplomacy and mediation skills to avoid and/or resolve problems so as not to delay projects and maintain harmonious working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively alert PIs, supervisors, and stakeholders of challenges, critical and/or time sensitive information.
  • Ability to interact with staff at multiple levels, executive, managerial, administrative and technical.
  • Demonstrate constructive/supportive approach in collegial and patient/family relationships.
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication and abide by departmental and University directives.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Epic/EMR, RedCap, Qualtrics, Advarra, Oncore, Velos.
  • Experience with online BOX, Sharepoint, and Onedrive databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science related field or public health preferred.
  • Ability to function as a resource in areas of expertise for those professionals requiring assistance.
  • Provide educational activities based on specialty area.

Department Overview

The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery provides comprehensive services to more than 35,000 patients per year. Otolaryngology has 20+ faculty and other academics, 25+ volunteer faculty, and over 100 academic and clinical staff spanning research programs that include head and neck cancer, skull base surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, audiology, voice, and dental care.
