Job Overview

The Beauty Education Specialist supports Macy's Beauty's evolution to meet the needs of an increasingly savvy beauty customer. Reporting directly to the head of Beauty Education, the Specialist is responsible for creating and executing training programs, developing exclusive training materials, partnering with vendors to curate content, and managing Macy's eLearning platform. They must have a passion for beauty, experience in retail and/or branding, and stay informed about industry trends. The Specialist quickly integrates key business initiatives into effective training programs and possesses strong communication and presentation skills, confidently presenting to large audiences both virtually and in-person.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with key business partners on priorities and initiatives for the Beauty Division (Cosmetics and Fragrances) and the Education Team.
• Partner closely with the Head of Beauty Education to develop assets, content, and execution plans based on key business initiatives.
• Seek new and effective methods to develop training programs for new hires and advanced levels that educate and inspire.
• Plan, communicate, and execute training seminars.
• Create and edit educational videos and supporting materials for Created for Macy's trainings that elevate beauty expertise and support corporate strategies.
• Organize and maintain the monthly and seasonal Beauty Education calendar.
• Ensure timely creation of digital product training pages (PTP) and on-time execution of launches.
• Provide consistent communication and support to respective teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors on content to support key business initiatives and ensure alignment.
• Publish content on Beauty Playground using prototyping and web development tools, with the ability to learn basic programming skills.
• Analyze education and sales data to provide insights, monitor engagement, and assess the effectiveness of initiatives across the eLearning platform.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities

Skills You Will Need

Beauty Industry Expertise: Passion for beauty, experience in retail/branding, and staying informed about industry trends.

Training and Education: Creating and executing training programs, developing exclusive materials, partnering with vendors for content, and managing Macy's eLearning platform.

Communication and Presentation: Strong oral/written communication, confident in presenting to large audiences virtually and in-person, and effective collaboration with business partners and cross-functional teams.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Adobe Suite programs or ability to learn, video creation experience (script writing/editing), and ability to publish content using prototyping/web development tools.

Analytical Skills: Analyzing education and sales data for insights, monitoring engagement, and assessing the effectiveness of initiatives on the eLearning platform.

Leadership and Organizational Skills: Self-motivated, proactive, able to complete tasks independently, leading by example, problem-solving, making "company first" decisions, and ongoing professional development.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration and consultative skills, establishing trust and building relationships across all levels, and clear, confident, and composed persuasion.

Preferred Qualifications: Licensed Aesthetician/Cosmetology License and relevant retail experience.

Who You Are

• Candidates with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 4-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in beauty education content development, communications, design, or project management.
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
• Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
