Job Summary

The Case Specialist I (Per Diem) is part of the Rally Family Visitation team providing direct services to families referred through the Family Court, primarily in Marin, San Francisco and/or San Mateo. Specialists work with Case Coordinators and Supervisors to deliver professional services centering the best interest of children and protecting adult survivors of domestic violence. The Per Diem Case Specialist's work schedule may include holidays, weekends and weekdays/evenings, as well as providing on-call coverage during direct service hours

Department Description

Rally Family Visitation Services is a community program of UCSF Health Saint Francis Hospital, serving Bay Area children and families since 1991. Building bridges essential to community health and well being-empowering joyful futures for vulnerable kids and families-Rally keeps kids safe and connected to both parents during very difficult transitions: separations, divorce or reunifications compounded by allegations and concerns about substance use, mental health, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and child abduction. Welcoming family members without judgement, Rally's mission is to promote the safety of children, the safety of adult victims of domestic violence, and equitable access to a neutral space and professional visitation services enabling children in separated families to experience healthy relationships with both parents.

Required Qualifications


  • Acquiring knowledge associated with profesional visitation service provision, methods, procedures, and standards.
  • A minimum of 1-2+ years of experience in a human services related field (or years of education in a social sciences field beyond High School) is required
  • Knowledge of and experience with trauma-informed practices.
  • Experience working with children and/or families from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English.
  • Aptitude for conflict de-escalation, conflict resolution, and limit setting
  • Ability to identify when to escalate issues and situations to senior providers
  • General PC knowledge
  • High school graduation/GED

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience working with families experiencing obstacles or in conflict, primarily domestic violence.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, child abuse prevention, and child exposure to domestic violence
  • Experience with case management and/or social work
  • Fluency in a second language preferred, particularly Bilingual/Bicultural Spanish or Chinese
  • Database knowledge and experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related field.
