Job Summary

We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Facility Attendant position. Operating under the general supervision of the assigned supervisor coordinates park activities at outdoor venues, oversees recreational sports and related events at specific school sites, and manages the rental of facility rooms and the setup of classrooms for designated centers or facilities throughout the County. This position entails organizing and disassembling tables and chairs for educational use and preparing equipment for outdoor activities and events. The individual is tasked with maintaining cleanliness in the rooms, alerting the manager to any repair needs, and conducting safety evaluations. The ideal candidate should possess strong motivation, demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team, exhibit excellent communication skills, have a solid foundation in customer service, and be adept at problem-solving.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * Sterling Community Center, Sterling, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Manages drop-in users, renters, and patrons in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Center and Department. * Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, registering participants, collecting fees, and enforcing facility rules. * Monitor the building and grounds, process work orders, procure supplies, and notify management of necessary repairs. * Provide substitute coverage for summer camps or preschool programs as required. * Maintain and update vehicle records if applicable. * Facilitate the rental and use of facilities, including the setup and breakdown of classrooms, gymnasiums, fitness rooms, and game rooms, specifically at the Sterling Community Center. * It is possible that other essential duties related to the specific role and department may be performed as required. * Position schedule includes working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Depending on assignment, six (6) months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities may be required.
Preferred Qualifications: * Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

Must undergo criminal, credit, DMV, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to maintain qualification standards. Pass TB test within 30 days of hire and each year thereafter. Must annually complete a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. First Aid/CPR certifications before hire or immediately upon hire.
