Pantheon Data was founded in 2011, initially providing acquisition and supply chain management services to the US Coast Guard. Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a talented Senior Writer/Editor to join our team and play a key role in creating compelling and effective communication products for both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional writer and editor with a keen eye for detail, able to collaborate with teams to produce clear, concise, and grammatically correct content that aligns with our brand, voice, and style.

Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with others to create original concepts that result in effective and compelling internal and external communication.
  • Write clear, concise, grammatically correct copy that is consistent with approved brand, voice and style.
  • Provide editorial expertise in producing catalogs, electronic newsletters and magazine-type publications.
  • Manage administrative requirements and requests for information.
  • Proactively create action plans to target the correct audience and use sound editorial judgment to determine where communication gaps exist and how to close them.
  • Perform final document quality assurance and quality control reviews on communication products prior to distribution to the public (e.g., press releases, informational brochures, briefings).
  • Consult relevant information sources to obtain and verify background information.
  • Develop outlines and drafts that meet client requirements and regulations.
  • Edit copy to comply with in-house and AP style guides.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Local travel may be required.


Required Skills and Experience



  • Proven ability to support communication programs and products, media relations programs, community relations, special events, and photography support.
  • Experience in research, conducting interviews, writing, editing, and obtaining release/approval for articles, feature stories, news releases, and statements, including electronic, web based, and hard copy material.
  • Proficient in writing, formatting, editing, and maintaining a range of print and digital media Knowledge of Section 508 compliance standards and how to create products that adhere to these standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of AP Style.
  • Exceptional writer and copy editor.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and self-motivation.
  • Ability to function in a face-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to understand highly technical material to disseminate to a wider audience.


Education

Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, public affairs, or related degree OR a minimum six (6) years of related experience in editing documents working in a military/engineering/technical/research, development, or testing environment.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Work Location: Onsite - Dahlgren, VA; onsite 5 days per week
