Job Purpose

As a Cloud Cybersecurity Architect at Modular Mining Systems Inc., you will be an integral part of the MTS Cloud Center of Excellence team, reporting to the Cloud Manager/Architect. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting key development projects in Azure by focusing on cybersecurity architecture, implementing security controls to address vulnerabilities, and managing incident response effectively.

Travel Requirements

Although this role primarily operates in Tucson and Milwaukee South Harbor, occasional travel between these locations may be required to support project needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of expertise by staying updated with the latest security standards and best practices.
  • Lead the development of security baselines to guide the identification and deployment of security controls across the organization.
  • Identify and implement detective, preventative, and corrective security controls at the appropriate scale to ensure ongoing protection.
  • Collaborate closely with application teams to identify and address security issues effectively.
  • Establish and maintain standardized processes to review and document cloud service and application security practices.
  • Act as a mentor to application teams and junior colleagues, enhancing security awareness and fostering best practices throughout the organization.
Required Skills
  • Bring a minimum of 5 years of relevant cloud security experience to the role.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of cloud security best practices.
  • Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving abilities crucial for effective cybersecurity measures.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Experience with cloud-native security tools and services like Defender, Sentinel, and Azure Policy.
  • Familiarity with code and infrastructure scanning tools such as SonarQube, Rapid7, and Wiz.io.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrated security checks.
  • Proven track record in automating security scanning and enforcement processes.
Desired Skills
  • Possess strong expertise in cloud networking, including virtual networks, network segmentation, DNS, firewalls, NSGs, VWAN, ExpressRoute, and VPN.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of logging tools, such as diagnostic settings, flow logs, and traffic analytics.
  • Show proficiency in monitoring systems for log and event analysis and response.
  • Hold cloud certifications like Azure AZ-500, AZ-305, AZ-104, SC-100, among others.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, CompTIA Cloud+, and others to showcase your commitment to excellence in cybersecurity practices.
