Hear more from our team members about why UnityPoint Health is a great place to work at https://dayinthelife.unitypoint.org Overview Nuclear Med Tech - Waukee Med Park, Cardiology Waukee, Iowa Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week Full Time Benefits **$7,500 Sign-on Bonus for External Hires, paid over 2 years. 3 mo: $2,500 / 1 yr: $2,500 / 2 yrs: $2,500 Responsibilities Clinical Excellence/Patient Care: Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic nuclear medicine exams in accordance to clinic policy and procedure. Demonstrate competence of the radioactive materials license, the authorized users, and the limits of the license. Prepare and administer radioactive agents to patients to obtain diagnostic images and quantitative/functional data in accordance to the radioactive materials license. Operate scintillation cameras/computers and radiation-measuring probes and detectors to produce images and graphic test data for interpretation by physicians. Perform, evaluate, and document quality control, proficiency testing, and quality assurance procedures. Completes and maintains accurate documentation related to the performance of duties. Participate in procedure updates and the development of new procedures as needed. Processes and analyzes nuclear medicine data and communicates findings to the appropriate health care professional(s). Maintain active registry status. Participates in the laboratory accreditation process. Development and Patient Education: Provides individualized education for patients and their families, recognizing and adapting to any special needs. Coordinates work schedule with lead and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage. Assumes responsibility for the safety and the mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the care of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist. Organizes daily work schedule and performs clerical duties with accuracy. Completes billing exam forms. Maintain and recognize malfunctioning equipment, perform minor troubleshooting, and initiate repair service when warranted. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program. Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Current state licensure. Current registry in nuclear medicine through the NMTCB and/or ARRT. CPR certification. Mandatory Reporter. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Experience with scintillation cameras/computers, uptake probes/wells, and dose calibrators, preferred. Why UnityPoint Health?
